Adding music to your profile using YouTube

Some people have been wondering how to add music to their profile. Since one of my titles is “Angel of Song” I thought I’d share this quick method that will work with YouTube.com. (Yes, that really is one of my titles. Google it.)

First locate the song you want to use on YouTube. You’re going to need the Embed code for this. The code will look like this:

iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/42YAtRCv81Q" frameborder="0" width="420" height="315" /iframe (There are a couple of sigils, I mean, symbols removed to keep the actual video from loading here.)

Go to your Profile page using the dropdown box up where your user name is.

Click the Edit button where your About section is (About Lucifer_the_Morningstar).

Now, you need to do a little HTML work, so follow me (and by this I mean follow my instructions).  Click the blue box that says HTML. You will see code. Go to where you want the video to be, perhaps the bottom of the page. Now, copy and paste that Embed code from YouTube.

Click the green Update button.

You’ll probably see a strange yellow box on your page. Click the green “Save” button (not guaranteed to work for souls).

Go to the top of the page and click on the My Profile link again. This will reload your profile and you should see the video.  This method will allow others to choose whether or not they want to listen to the music so it doesn’t interrupt other music they may have chosen to listen to.

Visit my profile to see it in action. The song is “Morningstar” by Blackmore’s Night.

Lucifer,
Angel of Song

I’m going to save that. I think I’ll remember— but just in case…

I’m not gonna lie, I’m still confused by it all. But thank you for the tip!
